First steps on a new path

Updated: Jul 16, 2020

Hello and welcome!

I write this rather intrepidly, as I take my first steps on a new and exciting online journey. I have been feeling for sometime that I wanted to venture into the online virtual world (as we all seem to be spending more time here these days) ...but there was always something holding me back. It turns out that "something" was in fact me!

I was waiting until I felt ready, and prepared to take the first step, until it dawned on me "What if I never feel ready?" As with most things in life, it is all too easy and tempting to stay within your own personal comfort zone. Well, why would you want to leave? It's a world that is familiar, safe, here you feel in control, free from the experience of anxiety and stress. It's comfortable. Whilst that does sound tempting, it also sounds a bit predictable and to be honest also rather dull. I believe that to really live a happy and fulfilled life, you have to leave the protective bubble of your comfort zone. Otherwise, you're not really living a whole life, choosing instead to hold yourself back, to miss out on opportunities, and indeed choosing to miss out on the wholeness of life itself. I believe that we must allow ourselves to experience the scary as well as the safe stuff, embracing the good and bad, light and dark. That is truly living a whole life, embracing all of it!

Once we take those first steps out of our comfort zone, all doors are open to us- we can discover new places, learn new skills, meet new people, continually learning, growing and evolving, with each step we take further away from that protective bubble. We allow ourselves to blossom into our fullest, highest potential. From this place we can live the life of our dreams.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step"

Lao Tzu

I'd love to hear your experiences of reaching out of your own comfort zone too, in what ways have you been doing this lately? What exciting new journeys are you beginning?

With love and all best wishes,

Ali x
